The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has said the fire incident near the Kaduna Refinery on Thursday, would not affect production and distribution of petroleum products in any way.
This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by the Acting Group General Manager, Public Affairs Division, NNPC, Dr Omar Ibrahim.
The statement explained that the incident, which occurred at Truck Park, was some distance away from the Kaduna Refinery Complex and did not affect the operations of the refinery.
“We urge members of the public not to engage in panic buying as neither production nor distribution of petroleum products from the refinery, was affected in anyway, by the fire incident.
“The two persons, who sustained injuries in the incident, are currently receiving treatment at our clinic. Investigation has commenced to determine the cause of the fire,” it stated. (NAN)
