An appeal has gone to the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, to partner and finance all microfinance banks in the state in terms of Public Private Partnership (PPP).
The Chairperson of National Association of Microfinance Bank, Kwara State, Hajia Halimat Yusus, who made the appeal during an interview with Royal Times correspondent, said this would assist in the area of job creation, poverty eradication among others.
Hajia Yusus, who commended the state government for its ten per cent equity contribution in the KCMB Microfinance Bank Limited, called on government to extend the gesture to other microfinance banks across the state.
She noted that this would also boost government revenue in the long run. According to her, microfinance banks are much closer to the grass root, communities, small and medium scale enterprises, farmer and other artisans.
