Kwara government assures private sector of partnership

The Kwara State Government has assured private sector of its commitment to partnership in order to help stimulate economic development and drive new investments in the energy sector.

The Commissioner for Energy, Lafia Aliyu Sabi gave the assurance in his office during the presentation of Groupe FAF Corporation proposal for the construction of Mini Grid Solar Power Plant at different locations of the state.

According to the Commissioner, the Solar Power Plant of 100MW will be on  buildownoperatetransfer (BOOT)  basis for Kwara State Government, leaving no stone unturned to ensure improvement in power supply for the good people of the state.

He enjoined non-governmental organizations to always seek desired information on government policies and programmes from the Ministry in order to keep them abreast of government’s strides in the Energy Sector.

In his contribution, the Permanent Secretary, Rotimi Williams commended the efforts and commitment of Kwara State Government for the procurement and installation of transformers for the benefit of various communities at the grass roots. He called for moderate and affordable  price model that can benefit both domestic and industrial usage.

Earlier, the Lead Consultant, Longe Stephen applauded the State Government for the opportunity given to his company to present its proposal pledging  not to betray the confidence reposed in him.  The proposed locations for the power project are Offa, Lafiaji, Patigi, Baruten and Asa Local Government Areas of Kwara State.
