Gov Ajimobi (2)Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has said that his administration will re-examine all the processes employed in the allocation of shops at the Scout Camp Market, Challenge, Ibadan.

He stated this on Friday during an unscheduled visit to the market recently inaugurated by the state government.

The governor said that he was in the market to ascertain the level of compliance as regards the movement of traders to the market and also to listen to the traders on the complaints arising from the allocation of shops.

He said that his administration would not tolerate any form of sabotage such as double allocation or allocation of shops to non-traders at the market.

Ajimobi denied ever sending anybody to acquire shops on his behalf or any member of his family or to collect money from any trader on behalf of the state government.

While responding to some of the questions raised by the traders, he appealed to them to exercise patience with the government on the number of shops being occupied, assuring them that more shops were already constructed to cater for those yet to get shops.

He also enjoined the traders to maintain proper sanitation of the market, while also warning those still trading by the roadside to desist from the act as government would not hesitate to confiscate their goods and prosecute them.

He reiterated his administration’s determination to provide interest-free loans to the traders as soon as the issue of allocation of shops was completely resolved.

Some of the traders, who spoke at the market, commended the initiative of the Ajimobi administration in constructing the market, pledging their support to the governor.
